The Mediterranean and the Middle East: What to expect in 2014? 04/01/2014 Dr. Eduard Soler

On the 29th of January 2014, Dr. Eduard Soler participated in an IPLI afternoon symposium in Paris with students from the Master of Public Affairs program at Sciences Po Paris. Dr. Soler, a research coordinator at the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs (CIDOB) gave his perspectives on the following topic: The Mediterranean and the Middle East: What to expect in 2014?

Dr. Soler gave his analytical assessment of potential changes to expect in the Euro-Mediterranean region and the Middle East and later opened up the floor to debate with the audience. Several countries were discussed during the debate including: Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia. Continuing U.S. and EU involvement in the region in 2014 was also discussed as well. The event was a unique opportunity for all participants and enabled a lively exchange of views on a wide variety of issues.
